The Wind That Shakes The Barley

It's the Irish movie that won the Palme d'Or this year. The movie was directed by Ken Loach, a British director and it's about the Irish struggle for independence in 1920.

Cannes Film Festival

The 2006 Cannes Film Festival runs from May 17 to May 28. Twenty films from eleven countries are in competition for the Palme d'Or and my favourite to win the honour is Pan's Labyrinth from Mexico.

The winner of the season was Taylor Hicks with runner up Katharine McPhee. Taylor Hicks joined Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood as the only winners of American Idol to never be in the bottom three or two.

Someone's Got Carried Away

DUBLIN (Reuters) - Ireland's Arts Minister congratulated Irish Eurovision song contest entrant Brian Kennedy on Monday for winning the competition -- except it was won by Finland.
Monster-themed Finnish rock band Lordi was the surprise winner of Saturday's show, clinching victory with the song "Hard Rock Hallelujah".
Although Ireland has won the contest more than any other country, Kennedy -- who opted for a more traditional style ballad entitled "Every Song is a Cry for Love" -- came 10th.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism said the press release congratulating Kennedy on a "marvellous win", which appeared on the department's Web site, was posted due to "human error" and removed after about 20 minutes.
After Ireland's seven previous Eurovision wins, Minister John O'Donoghue might be forgiven for getting carried away.

Finland Won the Eurovision

I have to say that the Eurovision this year was a spectacular, it was brilliant! They are all very competitive especially the scandinavian countries. I would love Germany to win it but what can I say, Germany doesn't belong to any blocks such as the balkan, baltic and the sandinavia. Anyway, Ireland did well in the Eurovision this year although finishing at 10th this year, which I think is better than not going to the finals at all like last year. In a nutshell, the Eurovision this year was fantastic! Those who haven't watch it, go check tv listing for the replay :)

Heineken Cup

Munster finally ended 11 years of hurt to win their first ever Heineken Cup, beating Biarritz 23-19 to delight a simply explosive Millennium Stadium crowd. Over 50,000 Irishmen created an intimidating sea of red to shake the French champions, hoping to inspire their heroes to succeed where they had twice failed in the past against Northampton and Leicester.
The Heineken Cup known as the H Cup in France due to alcohol advertising laws is an annual rugby union competition involving leading club, regional and provincial teams from the Six Nations: England, France, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and Italy.

But not sure which one to get; either the Ab Rescue Body Sculpting Gell by Aramis Lab Series or the Body Creator Abdomen Toning Gel by Shiseido men. Well, what do you guys reckon? :)
