Sarawak Chamber

Image hosting by Photobucket

I am watching Planet Earth on BBC 1 at the moment which about Sarawak Chamber or Deer Cave, the biggest cave chamber in the world which is 5 times bigger than St Peter's Cathedral in Rome and it could hold 38 football fields or 10 jumbo jets nose-to-tail in it. It was discovered by 3 Englishmen on January 1981 who are exploring Sarawak (Malaysian side of Borneo) at that time.

Watched the movie last night and it was good, love the ending. The movie is about a paedophile who ruined 2 boys life in totally different ways. Also, the movie tells us about different types of people's sexual preference or the way they satisfy them, well welcome to the real world.

The Irish Luck

Ireland won the Triple Crown yesterday during the RBS 6 Nations of Rugby Union, the second time in 3 consecutive years although France won the championship or the tournament or whatever you want to call it. This year, it was a bit weird, well Scotland beats France and England whilst Wales who won the Grand Slam last year lost to France, Ireland, England and drew with Italy, again drew with Italy! Anyway, I don't play rugby because it's too rough for me (haha!) but it's such a nice game to watch, it's all about strategies! Innit?
Another Irish victory at Cheltenham Gold Cup in which they won first, second and third place on Friday (St. Patrick's Day). The Irish are definitely celebrating for being Irish, good for them :) Well, I love them, had a wonderful time here in Ireland and they're such a lovely people, friendly to the max...and good looking too, haha that's me being shallow, judging people on how they look!

Melbourne 2006 (15-26th of March)

Image hosting by Photobucket

I predict Malaysia to get the 7th spot after Australia (1st), England (2nd), Canada (3rd), India, New Zealand and South Africa. Then, it would be Scotland, Wales and Nigeria. The best spot Malaysia got so far was the 4th place, 8 years ago when they're hosting it in Kuala Lumpur.
The next Commonwealth Games will be held in New Delhi, India and the 2014 Commonwealth Games will probably be either in Canada or Nigeria, again I predict, hehe :D

This year's CeBIT unveil Microsoft's "Origami" project in which UMPC (Ultra-Mobile Personal Computer) will be released by South Korea's Samsung and Taiwan's Asus around April.

Coryza

I'm not feeling well at the moment, I might get coryza (common cold). Been having runny nose, sore throat and pyrexia (high temperature) since Monday night. Might get the viral infection from one of the patients who I took their medical history on Monday. Yesterday, I wasn't sure if it was coryza or because I was just so tired with the ward round but since I keep sneezing last night, confirm the fact that I got coryza which is usually caused by either Rhinovirus or Coronavirus in which they attack the lining of the nose and throat. Not going for class in hospital tomorrow because I'm afraid of infecting the patients in the ward and going to the clinic to get prescription for antiviral or perhaps anti-inflammatory for the nose congestion. Been taking aspirin and Vitamin C but they just relieving the symptoms of fever, not more than that, hope the condition will go away in a few days time.

Xenophobia

Xenophobia denotes a phobic attitude toward strangers or of the unknown. It comes from the Greek words xenos, meaning "foreigner/stranger," and phobos, meaning "fear." The term is typically used to describe fear or dislike of foreigners or in general of people different from one's self. For example, racism is sometimes described as a form of xenophobia. In science fiction, it has come to mean "fear of extraterrestrial things." Xenophobia implies a belief, accurate or not, that the target is in some way foreign. Prejudice against women cannot be considered xenophobic in this sense, except in the limited case of all-male clubs or institutions. The term xenophilia is used for the opposite behavior, attraction to or love for foreign persons. (Wikipedia.com)
I heard the word a lot these days.

For those who are using Motorola RAZR, it's time to change it to this one for Spring/Summer. It's ultra-thin and has that designer look, I would have bought this one for myself if it fits into my Prada phone case.

Back in College Next Week

Class will start again on Monday next week and I've started to do some preparations for what they called "intensive clinical attachment" and at the moment I'm concentrating on medical history, clinical examinations and practical procedures just to recall back and improving the skills that I've learned. Anyway, since all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, I'm planning to watch City of God tomorrow and Elephant on the next day. Oh ya, going to meet Joanne, my best friend in college for coffee tomorrow, haven't seen her for ages now, my fault actually, been busy doing nothing lately, hehe :D

Happy Together

Image hosting by Photobucket

I watched this Cantonese movie last night and I enjoyed it very much, one of the best movie I've seen so far. It reminds me of Chungking Express, another film from Hong Kong that I love. Wong Kar-wai who directed both movies, won best director award at Cannes Film Festival in 1997 for Happy Together. Oh ya, I think Ang Lee might get some inspirations from this movie for Brokeback Mountain.

I got 11 out of my 24 predictions right and that’s actually not bad for a first timer, hehe. Crash, Brokeback Mountain, Memoirs of a Geisha and King Kong each won 3 awards. Wasn’t surprised that Crash won the best picture because Crash got the Oscar material and it touched the racism issues in which Oscar was dying to give credit to this type of movies.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Brokeback Mountain, the favourite to win the best picture is better than Crash but BBM is not the best movie there because Good Luck, and Good Night is the best one, well let's just accept the Oscar's decision :)

These three are the best dressed actresses for this year's Oscar Red Carpet in my opinion. Jessica Alba wears Versace, Zhang Ziyi in Giorgio Armani and Charlize Theron with John Galliano for Christion Dior.
