Guess Who I Saw Today?

I saw Jimmi Harkishin from Coronation Street earlier today. He was being crowded in front of Brown Thomas by fans for autographs and pictures. Seems like he's been shopping in Dublin for Christmas, hehe. Anyway, Coronation Street or Corrie is Britain's longest-running television soap opera and was first broadcasted on December 9, 1960.

It's in KL

Kuala Lumpur's very own Golden Triangle where the financial and shopping districs are located. Kuala Lumpur is Asia's richest city and home of the world's second and third tallest buildings and also world's forth tallest tower stand there. They had planned to built the longest building in the world but cancelled the plan during a time when most of the Far Eastern countries having an economic downturn.

Singapore Idol

The final show and the result will be on the first of December. I would say that Sylvester will win the idol competition although personally I think that Taufik is better than him. My favourite contestant is Daphne Khoo. I like her voice, very cute and unique. She was in the top 4 finalist and has been voted off a couple of weeks ago :(

The Eid

Last saturday, I celebrated the Eid or 'Raya' in Malay. The Eid was fall on the next day back in Malaysia. On saturday, I went to Malaysia Hall to celebrate the Eid with friends and also went to a few open houses around Dublin. I didn't go to the embassy's house to celebrate 'Raya' on sunday because I was busy finishing up my assisgnment, well what to do, medicine is all about being busy :( Anyway, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the Moslems around the world Eid Mubarak :)

Turner Syndrome

The picture of a miscarriaged foetus below is from my yesterday's Biochemistry lecture note. Only 1 in 40 Turner foetuses go to term and according to my Genetics professor, Dr David T. Croke, genetic disease accounted for 50% of still-births. Turner syndrome is a genetic disease due to the absence of an X or a Y chromosome. This disorder inhibits normal sexual development and causes infertility.
